    First of all, I presume you mean Irish-Gaelic; there is more than one Gaelic language. Secondly, is it meant to be in the vocative case (i.e. addressing or calling a person)? That would affect how it would be translated.

    Baineadh úsáid as "a stór" mar "My Precious" i rith aistriúchán bheag de "The Lord of the Rings" a thugadh dúinn ón ár múinteoir Ghaeilge i meánscoil...

    I'd say the best translation would be:
    "Mo Chailín, a stór"

    Yes but I thought it sounded better than a literal translation.

    Maybe the op could give us the context...
