Monaghan Poker Night 14th November

    Hibernian Poker will be running this fund-raiser game on behalf of Christina Noble Childrens Foundation & other charities associated with the Mongol Rally 2009.
    The game is a €60 entry with 1 rebuy or top up for €20. ALL the entry fee goes to the prize-pool, ALL the rebuy or top up goes towards the fundraiser(from which all expenses are paid also)


    1. Who is running the event (Mick Mc Guane of Hibernian Poker)
    2. The purpose of the event (In aid of the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation & other charities associated with the Mongol Rally 2009)
    3. Date and Location of event: Monaghan Soccer Club, Gortakeegan, Monaghan Town. Friday November 14th
    4. Registration and Start time of event. reg 8.30pm, start 9pm SHARP (bonus chip until 9pm)
    5. Any prerequisites (member of club, which is free)
    6. How can tickets be purchased & is there a maximum number- pay on the night, max capacity 100
    7. Type of Tournament (NL Hold'em, 1 re-buy or top option)
    8. Cost of entry and any subsequent rebuys/top-ups etc. €60 with 1 re-buy or top up option for €20.
    9. Cost of registration- The 'registration fee' comes from the top up which is €20. This €20 is a donation towards the charity. The €60 entry fee is all paid out
    10. % of entry fee/rebuys/top-up going into Prize fund - 100% of entrance fee.
    10a. Is any money held back for future games: no.
    11. Any guaranteed prize pool. Yes, guaranteed first prize is €1,000. I'm expecting at least 50 players which makes at least €3,000 in prize money
    12. If applicable, Number of re-buys allowed and over what time frame/blind levels. 1 for 1st 3 levels or top up at the end of level 3.
    13. Starting Chips 10k + 1k bonus for players registered before 9pm
    14. Rebuy and Top-up chip amounts. 10k rebuy or top up
    15. Blind levels, 15 mins for 1st 4 levels, 20 mins thereafter. Blind levels may be replayed depending on big blind/average stack ratio
    16. Blind timeframes 50/100 100/200, 200/400, 300/600, (break for food and top up)400/800, 500/1000, 800/1500, 1000/2000, 1500/3000, 2000/4000, 2500/5000, 3000/6000, 4000/8000 etc
    17. Places being paid and if any prizes are other than cash. At least 1 in 6 places getting paid. The winner on the night will receive a Cavan Poker Open Ticket worth €300 as part of their prize-pool
    18. Are there going to be dealers - yes.
    19. Will there be a documented list of rules - yes.
    20. Is there a tournament director - yes.
    21. How are disputes handled - who has final say. Mick Mc Guane TD
    22. Cash tables and rake: €1/€2 NLH Cash tables are run if required by the players on the night. The rake policy at Hibernian Poker is: No more than 4% from any pot, no pots under €25 raked, no flop no drop, maximum rake €5 (for all pots between €120 & €200) €10 for all pots over €200

    I'll be along to this. Bit of a mad structure imo, but I'll be home for the wkend and poker is fairly scarce around monaghan^^

    Glad to hear it, i've used this structure before and it actually works out quite well. The important thing is that with bonus chip and top up the average stack after the break is $21,000 and the blinds are $400/$800. They are 20 minute blinds but if the big blind/average stack ratio gets to heavy i will replay certain key levels.
    There should be a lot of good side action on the night also.

    I've been assured by the society that we've at least 50 runners lined up for this game already which will present a prize-pool of €3,000 minimum.
