after the recent railway cup competitions which unfortunately have declined hugely from former heights and certainly don't have the best team from each province, I wondered what the REAL best provincial teams would be?? anyone care to take a shot at selecting any of them in football / hurling?

Grand job i'll have a think about it and see what i can up with, im going to give the munster hurling team a crack, very brave of me considering how hard that will be and the abuse no doubt i will get for those left off ;)

BTW can i include any Cork hurlers or will they need to approve the manager first - ah feck it none of em are good enough anyhow :D

I started thinking about an Ulster team and the possibilities in the forwards are unreal. Cavanagh, Freeman, Bradley, Coulter, McDonnell, Clarke etc etc.

    Now I'm all confused.

Deise I had my munster hurling team picked aswell and its pretty similar although I would have Gilligan and Callinan instead of Dan Shanahan(absolutely terrible year) and Andrew O'shaughnesy(already have a free taker dont need two)

Not bad but I feel like there has to be a place for Ronan Clarke. Phillip Jordan would be gutted to miss out too!

McKeever and Jordan where toss ups, McKeever was probably Armaghs player of the season.

I'd have no gripe with Clarke for Bradley but Bradley is just sheer class on his day.

Couldn't think of anybody else for Joe McMahon, maybe Rory Kavanagh?
Well I didn't pick a single Donegal man, even Lacey!

Fear not, I picked him. :D

    Ronan Gallagher [Fermanagh],

    Karl Lacey [Donegal],
    Francie Bellew [Armagh],
    Conor Gormley [Tyrone],
    Aaron Kernan [Armagh],
    Ryan McCluskey [Fermanagh],
    Phillip Jordan [Tyrone],

    Enda McGinley [Tyrone],
    Sean Cavanagh [Tyrone],

    Brian Dooher [Tyrone],
    Rory Woods [Monaghan],
    Joe McMahon [Tyrone],
    Steven McDonnell [Armagh],
    Ronan Clarke [Armagh],
    Paddy Bradley [Derry]

I moved Cavanagh to midfield as I wanted Clarke at full forward. Cavanagh will still make an impact. ;)
