please recommend a laptop

    Hi,
    Can some of you please recommend a good laptop to me? My budget is no more then 600euro. I was looking at either the sony or hp ones in that price range? Only because I recognise the brand name. I would like a big screen and as much memory as possible(for that price).
    There isn't a huge amount of choice in Galway...only PC world and the sony centre, and found the sales people in both not very well informed!
    I would appreciate some advice.
