Just need clarification.. Arts... you need 60 credits to get into 2nd year? 15 credits per subject? If you only take two subjects in first year, you must repeat first year in order to make up the balance of credits to get into 2nd year?

    Am I right?

    What's a non-degree?

    Polite, informative replies please.

    Much appreciated.

    Hi,

the information you're after is all in the calendar

you'll see that yes it's 60 credits, but not all courses are worth 15. some are worth more, some less.

schoolteacher - i just want to say a few things and they are meant in a nice way so please don't take them the wrong way.

i've been in ucc a few years now and am nearly finished my degree but my mother was like you when i started. asking everyone questions but me. wanting know everything about everything. questioning all my decisions on buying a laptop and books etc. (though she was fully in support of the laptop purchase given i could afford it myself, more so she thought i should have gotten a better one than i did).

i resented all of this. i dont know you or your daughter or the relationship, but maybe you could talk these questions through with her and sort it out together. i know i shut my mother out after awhile and i could count how many times i talk to her or go down their now to her. and if your daughter doesnt know then perhaps contact the college directly or check the website for the more academic side of things because it appears that you are somewhat going behind her back. i know its because you care but i dont think its the right way of going about it.

please dont take this the wrong way for i do not intend it like that.
