    Hi Guys,

I posted some shots from my forest walks on Monday for comment. All the comments were pointing me towards PP which I've always stayed away from. Based on the all the comments, I tried a little processing and here's the results..

    A Walk in the Woods.

    After...

    Trees Reflected in the Lake.

    After...

I'm now sold on doing a little more processing on my shots. I went through my portfolio and none of them were processed very much apart from the swan that's gone into the boards yearbook - obviously I'd tarted that one up a bit more for the book.

Thank you to those of you who took the time to criticise my shots - your comments were well received.

Very nice. PP is a double edged sword, you've kept it just right I think.

    Thanks.

I actually had to do the first one twice - the first attempt was FAR too green

Obviously getting it right in the camera is the way to go but sometimes conditions aren't favourable and don't allow or you may wish to go beyond photography and be artistically creative and this is where post processing is a must. I'd think those posted above show a great deal of improvement - the only critique i might add (hope thats ok) is that on my screen the colour looks a little over saturated - first one a little and second one a lot(?) not sure if that would have been intended. I think much pp needs to be subtle to keep things realistic to the eye. Well done though.

I love your PP on these, very subtle, you seem to have got it just right. I especially like how the 2nd one turned out (all its missing is a couple of swans?).

    Just an alternative thought.

Your PP has lead to more saturation and your colour and image certainly do "pop" now (though I agree, perhaps too much in the 2nd image).

Did you consider, going the opposite way and try to make the image more ominous and moody? I think this could work particularly well in the first image. If you cropped it in so that it looks more like doorway into a dark unknown, could work nicely. Play around, sometimes its better to skew the colours towards something abnormal. Just be careful not to go overboard.
