Are they hard to keep and transport?
    Any funny dove stories?

My grandfather used to keep doves in our shed. he would rent them out for weddings and the odd funeral funny enough. They can be quite hard to transport, depends how nice a person you are really. He used to shove them in a black bag when going places and beat them if they misbehaved. But then he did kill about one a week. As far a price goes it depends on the quality dove really. For the thoroughbred your talking a shilling a pop but then u could always just paint pigeons white.

Obviously mistreating animals is wrong so I'd ignore that part of booboo's post (NAUGHTY BOOBOO!) and the bit about "a shilling a pop" ... hopefully someone will come in with a serious reply.

This guy might be worth sending an email to. He could probably tell you where to get them.
