No cross border student fare (bus)

I just thought I'd post this here as it's something I found out recently and I was pretty shocked by it.

I went to take the bus back up to Belfast from Busaras recently and when I asked for the student fare, I was told that there wasn't one as Bus Eireann and Translink couldn't decide on a fare between them.

Personally I find this a bit unbelievable as Translink and Iarnrod Eireann managed to figure out one for the train and as they managed to figure out a price for all the other cross-border bus fares - standard single/return and super saver - so why not a student rate? It's the only one of Bus Eireann's bus routes that doesn't have a student rate. Aargh. Very annoying.

I guess this is more of a rant than anything else. But perhaps someone else can enlighten me as to how come they have been unable to agree!

They can't even agree on a route number for the service . . .

(BE refer to it as the 001, Translink as the 200 )
