Interested in knowing what you golfers out there would think of this? I mean a really professional set-up, big exravaganza over maybe 2 days held in a central Irish Championship course with overnight accomodation for competitors and a set-up similar to the American long drive competition. Would you enter? would you visit? (fun day for all the family), tented village similar to PGA tournaments and loads of side attractions.

I think by also having a short game side to it you are definitely increasing your market as there are some older generation players who would still have very sharp short games, whereas with the power long drive competition it's really only a small fraction of guys aged between 20-45 who will compete.

Would obviously need to see a lot more details, but depending on the time of year, I may have a few lads who would be interested in making a weekend of it.

I hear what you're saying, for the short game maybe like a target golf challenge.. chipping ,putting, bunker play, heavy rough recovery etc. Time of year would almost definitely be late spring. Thank you for your comments and interest, keep them coming...
