    Anyone played in Castle Dargan.
We are thinking of visiting as a fourball.
They seem to be doing a good geal B&B / round of golf.

Played it end of Sept and was dissapointed in the course. It was very wet. Some nice holes but layout and general appearance of the course was in general disappointing.

We were going to play Castle Dargan Lough Rynn and maybe County Sligo.
It might be better to stay with Co Sligo, Enniscrone and Strandhill.
As long as the weather is not too windy.

Lough Rynn is not yet open, and Castle Dargan can be soft underfoot at this time of year...

Strandhill is reasonable value, with some nice holes....

County Sligo is superb, and a very fair test, as is Enniscrone, but it can be a very difficult challenge if the wind blows....

    Thanks for the advise.
We will give those a go, if the weather ever clears up.

Played Castle Dargan & Enniscrone in early October. CD was very soft underfoot in places but the greens were immaculate, and the course in great order otherwise. Some very nice golf holes on it. Enniscrone can be a bit difficult if its windy or overcast and hard to figure out where the hell you're going at times, but a great track.

    The courses are very different.
Enniscrone is absolutely fabulous on a fine summers day. Very scenic. But on a windy winters day, it is a challenge.

I've played Castle Dargan 4 times and I think it's a good challenge, but it's hard to look past links courses at this time of year. Strandhill is by far the cheapest and it's not bad.

If you fancy a few pints after playing you should think abut staying in Sligo itself. We stayed in the Glasshouse for a golf weekend a couple of months ago and it was great for heading out afterwards.

    I agree.
There are some greay links courses along the West Coast.
Strandhill is great value and quiet a good course.
It is located between Enniscrone and Co Sligo and everyone compares it to them.

I just met a group who played Castle Dargan last week.
They saidthe place looked great, brilliant greens, etc.
BUT, the whole place was very wet and difficult to walk.
