DOUBLE MAIN EVENT: TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Champion "The Icon" Sting vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

    DOUBLE MAIN EVENT: REVENGE MATCH
"The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe vs. "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash

    TNA LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Champion Booker T vs. "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage

TNA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Beer Money, Inc. vs. The Motor City Machineguns

Abyss vs. Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle

Grudge Match: "The War Machine" Rhino vs. X Division Champion Sheik Abdul Bashir

Plus, an X Division championship seeding match to determine the top contenders!

Pretty good card. I can see EY winning the rankings match, he seems to have dropped the two and a half year comedy act (he beat the pyro this week). Theme song is Indestructible by Disturbed for anybody interested.

History of Turning Point including:2004: America's Most Wanted vs. Triple X (Six Sides Of Steel)
2005: Abyss vs Sabu (Barbed Wire Massacre)
2005: BaseBrawl (6-Man Tag Team Match) Guest commentary by Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
2005: AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe (X Championship)
2005: Jeff Jarrett vs. Rhino (World Championship)
2006: AJ Styles vs. "The War Machine" Rhino
2006: Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe
2007: Samoa Joe, Kevin Nash & Eric Young vs. The Angle Alliance

Joe is in for a long night.

I have to say, throwing away Joe/Nash here after 12 months of build-up really bothers me. Either Joe should have dispeared after BFG leaving a taunting Nash to rule TNA with MEM for the next month before Joe's vengful return, or Joe should have been hunting Nash down over the previous month, demanding Nash get in the ring with him. Should have been saved for another month at least.

Other than that, looking forward to Sting/Styles.

I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing how well Heenan has come along. :)

I think it's a really really good line-up. I hate Joe but I liked the build for Joe vs. Nash so it's the first time I've cared for a Joe match not involving Christian or Angle in ages. Sting vs. A.J. could be great, I'd say Sting will put him over huge while still retaining. Really exciting to see Rhyno back. Big fan of the Gore. Booker vs. Christian could also be awesome if it wasn't for a pointless belt and Booker realised that he's black, not African-American.

The one I'm really excited to see though is Beer Money (second best tag team in the U.S. at the moment) against the MCMG who always preform well. Haven't been watching but from what I've heard from F4W there's been no build for this one at all which kind of scares me. Think that they might wanna get the belts involved in the Mafia angle and lash 3D or bring back Rick Steiner for the other team. Shame that Abyss and Kurt is awful. Morgan will probably interfere to top it off. Had they lashed Tomko in here instead with build they'd have had my favourite card since Mania.

    Also, no woman's match?

The womens match looks like it will be a re-match from Bound For Glory with some kind of no-dq/hardcore gimmick. Beer Money were beating up EY this week and the Guns made the save so there has been some interaction between them. I thought Angle/Abyss had a very good match this week on iMPACT!. My only problem was they gave a little too much and didn't leave much for the PPV but we'll see.

Not a proper build up. This fills me with hope though because it could be building up to a rematch at the next PPV with build. It's a match I've been waiting to see for ages. Also, realise this could throw the thread off topic but why did they have Angle vs. Abyss on T.V. just before the PPV

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

I would guess that the PPV match is a rematch of the TV match which went to a DQ. These two have wrestled before and Abyss hasn't wrestled as a main eventer since he last wrestled Angle last year at No Surrender so it wouldn't really considered as a main selling point of the show but rather a nice add on.

    My predictions are:

Sting, Joe, Christian, Beer Money, Rhino, Kurt, AK & RS and Consequences Creed.

I'm sick of Beer Money. 3D or LAX should be champions, they're both way better teams though it'll be interesting to see Abyss and Matt Morgan go up against Beer Money.

Im actually enjoying Beer Money as champs..Storm and Roode are both class and hopefully will get goo songles pushes in the near future..
Abyss and Morgand wouldnt be interesting againt them...Morgan has the personality of a cadrboard box..

    .

Beer Money are indeed awesome. I'm hoping that they might be allowed into the Main Event Mafia as an example of a team that paid their dues to the top and because of Jacquie. They did team with Booker on Impact and it would set up MCMG vs. Beer Money Inc.

What's the point in having a ref bump and low blow in a no dq match ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,443 ✭✭✭Red Sleeping Beauty

He just said "this is your Turning Point main event" twice in about a minute. Is Sting not a heel ? Why's he shaking the fan's hands ?

Sting is borderline he's still more face though trying to get his moral point across, joe and Nash wasn't no dq either

Ah right, thought maybe he might be a tweener. I wonder will there be a turn at the end of match ?

Joe/Nash match was still poor regardless. Suppose, it could've been worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭EdK

Nash v Joe was never going to be a classic but it had no hope after Angle and Abyss

Thats not it at all. Sting is refusing to turn heel eventhough in the script he was/is meant to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭EdK

I think its a fair analysis, Sting I dont think can go full fledged heel, I dont think he can draw the heat after all these years

I dont think it is, Sting is in real defying scripts everytime he goes out he ignores the heel lines in the script. Hence his alinement is such a confusing mess.

Sounds like a good show though

The PPVs normally are good shows.

Don't think they'll be able to turn Sting, it's just too difficult.

Also, where did Hall appear? I heard rumours that he' interfere in Joe NAsh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭EdK

He was sitting ringside during the Rhyno/Bashir match and some of the tag title match with the ICP, he was gone when it came back to the Booker/Christian match and was not otherwise involved in the show

I really thought Christian Cage would win

Woo to Angle he still is a great wrestler

AJ Styles smokingly hot as usual :D

I wish he won as I HATE the wrestler being in a group against his will storyline. I predict Christain will "accidently" trip one the MEM in the coming weeks. :p

This was a really good PPV. Angle/Abyss was up there for MOTY without a doubt. It was truely awesome. Both Styles/Sting and Joe/Nash told really good stories and I believe that Sting is the first man the avoid the Pele. Womens match was solid and the tag title match was excellent. Bashir/Rhino was decent but it was ignored by the crowd because of Hall. Christian/Booker was good but nothing special, I was a little let down by it. The X Contenders match made Doug Williams look strong and it was your typical X-Division style match with the nice touch in the different tag rules.

Angle/Abyss is a must see, Angles moonsault and stage dive were spectacular. Up there with BFG for show of the year.

He did get some heat on impact when he was doing the segment with AJ talking about his father kicking him out of the house etc. But i see where it will be very hard to turn him heel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

But i see where it will be very hard to turn him heel

I think its due to the fact that Sting was their only stand out, over face that could be used to turn people heel (besides Foley).
