USB Wireless Card versus PMCIA

Hi, i"m setting up a wireless network for father in law but they have an old laptop ( IBM T41). I want to get a wireless card for them but should i get a USB one or a PMCIA one? I've read about it on the net and it seems the PMCIA one is better, anyone any advice? cheers
