Took a quick run to Killarney yesterday. Thanks to Carrigman I found the beautiful O'Sullivan's Cascade, if I was thinking right I'd have gone there first, it's a tough walk after wandering around Torc.

    #1. Torc waterfall.

Thank you, I have Nikon D70s with 18-70 & 55-200 lenses, would have used both for these shots.

I suppose I'm happy enough with the results except #1, wondering why it has a blue tinge?

Looks like the auto white balance got a bit confused :) Easily fixed if you shoot RAW

Wow? I was going to say that I think #1 is my fav out of these, although they're all excellent.

Thanks scotty - However amateurish I'm with a camera I'm a dead loss with Photshop.

All the work of the camera. I'm no expert but from what I've learnt, try to take the pics when there's less light, leaves on tree, dark days, early or late in the day, actually avoid sunlight. I usually use the manual select an aperture setting of around f20 and then mess around with my shutter speed to take a few shots +/- exposure, I try to check whats working on the LCD but it's a tad too small to be sure so I take a few more of various aperture and shutter speeds.

Not sure if I go about this correctly but I get a few decent shots so I suppose I cant be too far wrong, actually look at my response to gloobag below, ah well more learning for me.

Thanks gloobag. Actually, now that you mention it I think I had the white balance set to fluorescent for my first few shots.:o Why do I always forget the white balance or ISO settings.
    RAW! must read my manual.:o:o

Thanks TNB, I took a similar pic last year and I think it was better except for the guy at the bottom of the pic. Hadn't time to wait for him to leave and he made no effort to make it easy for me.

    Compare these two:

I love these kind of shots, they never quite work out so well for me though. I do tend to agree with you about last years being slightly better.
Great work mate, keep it up!

Hi there, some really nice photos. Can you tell me how to find this place, is it high up on the mountains?

I googled it but can only find photos and a location of it being in the Tomies Woods. Actually, some of the photos I found had guys canoeing on the waterfall, wouldn't be up that myself but the photos looked spectacular.
    Thanks.

Take the Killorglin road from Killarney, about 2Kms take a left turn for the Gap of Dunloe, on this raod take a left turn for Lough Leane (signposted for Lough Leane)

Travel along this road until you come to a concrete bridge and a passage to farm yard (sign posted for "No Parking Beyond this Point"), you need to park along the public road. Head up the lane and pass the farm house on your right, keep going through a few gates, after about 10 mins you'll come to a fork in the track after a sign for Killarney National Park, take the left track (signposted for the cascade). Continue along this track until you come to another sign to the left for the cascade.

Give yourself time to explore the area as it really looks well, I only had a short time due to spending too much time at Torc.

The walk from the car to the cascade take about 35 mins, average walking.

Finally, it's not high up at all, it is really close to Lough Leane.
