Out of curiosity does anyone use facebook for displaying images - if so is it any good for this purpose ?
Currently use flickr , my website and pix.ie and occassionally myspace . just wondering any reason to use facebook .

p.s. as you can guess i'm a facebook virgin , and don't really want to start adding to another site :D - myspace is a hassle as it is - control of the internet , where does it stop !

I would say Facebook is great as a social network site, but is too cluttered to be of use for solely displaying photographs.

Yes, you can have a gallery, and control access, but all the bells and whistles that come with a Facebook page would drive you mad!

I just use Pixie and a few on Myspace.
Bebo and Facebook would be a step too far.
Most of my band pics are nicked for Bands myspaces anyway* although I do get some guestlists. :)

*Punk is diy so we all nick stuff on each other. ;)

nah I wouldn't bother Baz - mine's just for keeping up with mates. It compresses images horribly...

To echo above yeah facebook is not an appropriate platform for displaying your images, compresses them to a tiny size. Good for sharing wiht mates, but that's about it.

Tbh, facebook is for friends... I wouldn't consider it anything else, for the time being anyways. I don't accept friend requests from people called "*name* Photography", and neither would most of my friends.

never liked facebook. could never get in on it tbh.
for me - pix.ie primarily and flickr for the groups mainly.

oh, and i'm promising myself that i'll get writing a little over on blogger (with pix.ie hosting the source image - including link back)
