Quick Q - Rust on Satelitte...

    Hi all,

Quick question really. Hope someone can help me out. We've noticed a degrading of our SKY signal over the last while but its still watchable and its still records and all that. However over a while I've noticed that the dish is getting quite rusty? Is this a normal issue with sky dishes? I've never noticed it on anyone else before though. But can it cause issues?

    Thanks,

Ours has gone that way and is affecting the fittings on it now also so much so that it can no longer be adjusted. It is near a kitchen extractor outlet so I reckon this could be the reason for rust in our case.

try painting it with hammerite metal protect. the matt one though not the other one. it has been posted on here before about rust and the most frequent answer was hammerite or such similar product as long as the lnb is not painted with it or and drips gets on it.

here is the thread on it.

rust is an issue. in some cases when the hammerite was painted on the signal quality doubled over the previously rusty dish signal quality.
