Down at Fairyhouse Racecourse today to take some shots of the Tattersalls National Hunt Breeze Up sale. The format was for the Horses to come over the road from Tattersalls and run a few furlongs over in Fairyhouse and show the buyers their form. Great day for it althoug the sun was on the wrong side but spot metered for the most part and then auto leveled the shots and they looked grand. Shot with a 135L/300 f2.8/15mm fish on the 5d and the 1dmk3, any shots were going off to the papers. C&C welcome as usual

The sky is blow out in this but rider is nice and clear and it a gallop too.

This is exactly what I was looking for, shot it with the fisheye and the 1dmk3 in AIServo

Nice close up of the Jockey's working

On the way to the track, 5d and 15mm fisheye down low and just put it on servo and shot away

This is where I will be working tomorrow, quite dark and a fair challenge to get sharp shots, ISO ranges from 1600 with an f1.2-f1.8 and ISO 3200 for any f2.8's

Shame the sky is so blown out on 1 and 3. You might be able to recover some of that in PP (selective mask and then down the brightness).

Some lovely images. I'm sure it'll keep you busy.

Thanks Paul, they whole picture was blow out and only in levels did the contrast come back, I tried a HDR out of the one RAW but no such luck. I probably will just crop it tight.

great shots as usual, Keith. Pity about the overblown background.

haven't shot horses since last Dublin Horse Show. And now is missing the chance at National Horse Show back home in Malaysia. Also this weekend, World Endurance Championship of which a family member riding for the country. :(

Would have been a great opportunity for enjoying the games and photography.

Thanks Dave, the depth of field in the fisheye is huge with front to back sharpness. With the 15mm too its not too fishy but gets a lot in on the 5d
