You'll have no hassle getting to Lucan village but then you'll hit traffic all the way up to Liffey Valley. Time from Lucan Village up to Woodies where you'll get onto the N4 can vary an awful lot! The junction before Woodies can be an awful mess with traffic coming up from the outer ring road meeting traffic coming from Lucan village and also you'll be hitting school traffic.
Seriously, it'll take about 10mins to hit Lucan village from where you're starting from but the road is awfully narrow.
You'll easily get to Liffey Valley by 9 - in fact you should be there by 8.15 at the latest!

You could try going the opposite way towards Chapelizod Village. Once you get past the citybound traffic, go right over Chapelizod Bridge and then it's a clear run against the morning traffic onto the N4 outbound.

Hi, I took the route across through lucan and I got to liffey valley at 8:05am after leaving my house at 7:40am. I never thought I would get across that quickly! luckily I had some reading to do to keep me occupied until 9am.
