In relation to this incident, this man should be banned from Gaelic games for life and not 72 weeks which no doubt will be reduced on appeal. If GAA is to survive thewn this sort of thing cannot be allowed to continue.

While I completely condemn the actions of the Dromore manager, he doesn't deserve a life ban. Things like this happen, particularly in the heat of the moment and 18 months is sufficient punishment in my view.

72 weeks is fine tbh. Had the same thing happened on a football pitch it would've been 5-6 games max. Some people might even argue it's too strong, but they do need to cut out the crap like that which happenings all too regularly at club level.

A life time ban would've been way too harsh though.

it didnt look half as bad as that on the news last sunday, i thought it was a big story being made outta nothing. looking at this now, i have changed my mind. he deserves every bit of the 72 weeks lads and more.

heat of the moment my ass, he could have broke a jaw/ eye socket etc etc of the lad, who in all fairness, looked harmless. look at his reaction then to run away with his back turned. coward of the highest level.

I'd agree it was a horrible incident and the man is clearly a <snip> but 72 weeks is probably enough...

Right lads, let's tone this down a bit please.

Keane 2097 infracted and mumhaabu warned.

I saw that on telly, actually, and thought it was absolutely disgraceful. Not being much of an Irish-speaker unfortunately, I didn't know if the commentators were making a big deal out of it, but I'm glad that the guy got such a suspension. It's no more than he deserves.

I wasn't really listening but from what I picked up they were saying it was a bit foolish but not exactly making a big deal of it...

EDIT: But I could be wrong about that.
