Have an old P3 Latitude and there is an intermittent problem with the touch pad. The mouse often shifts across the screen on its own accord and becomes impossible to control. If I reboot it goes back to normal. Anyone have had similar?

There is a known issue with the old Dell laptops, particularly the latitudes with the "drifting trackpad". You can try disabling the pointer (middle of the keyboard) and see if that makes any difference but the usual fix is to get the keyboard replaced.
