Few Quick Fixes needed for NCT - Dublin City Centre Area

I've my 1997 Fiesta booked in for an NCT this week. Was planning on putting it in without a pre-check, failing but coming out knowing exactly what needs to be repaired rather than giving a mechanic a blank cheque.

However I've spotted a couple of things that are likely to guarantee me a fail that might be easy to rectify so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a mechanic somewhere with a 15-20 min drive of the city centre that could fix these small things for fairly cheap or correct my thinking that they will result in a fail. They are:

Bonnet release catch is too loose. The cable needs to be detached from lever and very firmly pulled to open.

Passenger wing mirror is damaged. Looks perfect if they don't touch it but can't be adjusted!

The car is going fairly well and over the last 10-12 thousand miles (on 65k total) that I've had it it's been serviced regularly however I'm expecting wear and tear to mean there'll be a few other problems I haven't spotted yet.

Any opinions on whether I should just get it tested and find out for sure what the problems are or whether I should get those small things done and hope for first time pass!

i passed an NCT with a bonnet that took two people to open :) the guy had to come in and ask me to open it :) maybe he was just being nice. i always saw it as an extra security feature. as for the mirrror - it doesnt need to be adjustable from in the car - so long as it reflects!!

    check all your bulbs though

In other words just give it a lash then?

    Cheers!
