Just browsing the Warpmart website this evening and stumbled across two listings titled 'On The Hour' Volume 1 & 2. They are listed as being pre-order and both contain 4 discs.

Anyone know anything about these? I had a look on discogs and there is no mention yet and a quick google didn't find anything either.

    Intrigued

Don't know if this helps you but I got this reference from discogs:

In winter 2005 the book 'Warp' by Rob Young was released as the first volume in the Labels Unlimited series. It gives a fully illustrated overview of the label's history and also confirms the following gaps in the catalogue numbering, though with some mistakes:

    Albums
    WARP 13 - no release
WARP 93 - Priest "Untitled" (unreleased)
    WARP 99 - no release
WARP 109 - Squarepusher "Budakhan Maximized" (unreleased)
    WARP 113 - no release
WARP 118 - Chris Morris "Blue Jam II" (unreleased)
WARP 134 - Chris Morris "On The Hour - Series One" (unreleased)
WARP 135 - Chris Morris "On The Hour - Series Two" (unreleased)

There was an email from warp out to its mailing list today:
"Man is Only 90% Water, but On The Hour is 100% News"

Chris Morris' acclaimed BBC Radio comedy, which spawned 'The Day Today' and legendary characters like Steve Coogan's Alan Partridge, will be released for the first time on 24th November via Warp on 2 Deluxe CD packages, featuring all episodes and previously unheard content!

Cheers, sounds an unusual move for Warp!

Great stuff, love the Day Today and Brass Eye. Odd for a Warp release though, maybe Tom Jenkinson will remix it? :p

"On The Hour" is superb - brilliantly funny, devastatingly sharp and well worth repeat listening. It paved the way for "The Day Today", prefiguring what that show did for TV-based news programmes, only in the medium of radio. It pretty much launched the careers of Chris Morris and others, as well as launching Steve Coogan's character, Alan Partridge

As far as I'm aware, "On The Hour" was produced by the BBC. Warp must have licensed it from them.

It's not really unusual - they've done it before for other Chris Morris stuff.
