Won auction but seller won't sell!

Mate of mine won an ebay auction today for a car, seems to have been listed without a reserve.

Winning price was just over €8000, the seller also said on the ad that the buy it now price was €13,000 but didn't have a buy it now option on the auction.

Anyway, after winning the auction my mate contacted the seller to ask where and when he could collect the car (it's in Ireland) he got a reply along the lines of "you must be crazy if you think I'm going to sell it for 8 grand, sure I have another offer of 12 grand on it already!"

Anyone have prior experiance of similar? What's the normal outcome of disputing this with ebay?

You can't force a seller to sell, all you can do is leave negative feedback and report him for reneging on the deal. eBay will do practically nothing though.
