I've searched high and low but I can't find any info in this section on CAB. I was hoping someone here might know what the process is for applying. I know that people are taken from Gardai, Revenue and elsewhere but was looking for some more info.

    Any help appreciated.

Thread moved to ES forum to get more coverage.

Kinetic tbh I don't know for sure but I would imagine internal recruitment process from each organisation would be the norm.

    Do you work in revenue?

    No.

I'm a complete outsider and that's why I'm looking for info.

As far as I've read, they take in people from Social Welfare, Revenue and Garda.

They dont recruit direct. The staff of CAB are seconded to CAB from their original positions. They remain Gardai, customs or revenue officers while there.

People seconded to the CAB would have excellent skill set and also be very good at their jobs too. It would take years for anyone starting from scratch to get in there.

there was a book written about CAB and how and why it was started, can't rightly remember the name, might have been "The Untouchables" but i'm open to correction.

That sounds like something Paul Williams would come up with.

CAB seized E10 million this year and froze a further E10 million.

Is this stupid or wha', would it not be better to invest this money into the garda straight away in a capital project such as equipment or upgrading premises?

Or does this money go straight to Revenue?

Goes into the government and the budget. Its then spread around not just for who found it

I do believe you are hand picked for the Bureau. Thus, no applications as such.
