    Hey,

I bought my PS3 two days ago in Tesco and today I was playing GT5 to find that the screen became fuzzy and filled up with lines. So I turned off the console but when I turned it back on I got no display.....

Its connected by HDMI, I tried switching to scart but the same problem...

    Anyone have any tips?

if ya have it set to hdmi it wont display on scart until ya reset the display settings,
put the ps3 in standby and hold the reset button till it beeps twice, that will reset it

You just hold the reset button while turning it on right?

Yes well I plugged i tout for awhile and then plugged it back in, the screen was alright for a minute then the straight lines started showing up and the screen was covered in them, I tried resetting again and using the av cable and then hdmi connection again but to no avail.

I returned it and got the 80gb, so far so good but I have no game for it or demos, would this matter testing the HD? Its in 1080p atm downloading the update....

It wouldn't be the tv would it? I just bought the sony 32w4000 from komplett the other day....

Any suggestions of what it was or still could be would be great, thanks.

Ahh well, you have a new 80 gig now. And yer DS3!
Id advise the downloading of the Mirrors edge demo or the Motostorm 2 one.
Both can be seen on the latest tab on the PSstore.

Yea I downloaded the motorstorm demo on the one I returned but forgot to save it on a usb stick, but Im downloading the mirrors edge demo.

Would there be a problem with the tv then? Its working fine atm but I havent tried any media on it yet like a game in 1080p or movie, Im pretty sure I reset the one I replaced a few times but it didnt seem to work.

I just dont want to find in a week that its the tv not the ps3.

Games cannot be backed up on any other medium like usb stick or drive. When you back up your system its the same thing.

I doubt its the tv tbh. Id try downloading some HD trailers too.

Just ran a hd trailer there, worked fine, but I dont understand why the ohter one acted up after two days. The PS3 is in a cupboard with plenty of ventilation but it is warm behind the console, nothing bad though.

When its heating up you will hear the fan get fairly loud (but not xbox loud).
You'll know when its happening. Ive had a few crashes on games but nothing as mad as your OP. I wouldnt worry about it tbh.

Just played the Motorstorm demo there now. Fun times. :)

Yea the motorstorm demo is great but you cant use the sixaxis for it, yea I hope the problem is sorted now.
