Very nice great spec,What are you planning to use it for,Cause this laptop come across as a mobile powerhouse 4GB ram is alot!

Edit: Didn't see the gaming bit in your post

    Youtube video of gaming...

I use Solidworks for leaving cert drawing,It runs well on my laptop which only has 1gb of ram so it's really down to what games you want to play?

I got one for my brother off dabs.ie a few weeks ago, its a bit of a fingerprint magnet but aside from that hes delighted with it.
He hasn't installed any games on it yet, The graphics card in it is entry level so you won't b playing crysis on it but it should run pretty much anything else
The only reservation I had about it was the 13inch screen cause I don't really like using my gf's Asus 1000h (10 inch screen) but the Q310 screen is pretty comfortable to use, I suppose thats all down to the individual though

Looks to be a very nice laptop for the money.
Was playing around with one a few weeks back. Nice size and handled well.
The lack of firewire was the only thing that stopped me from getting it.

Looking at getting this too. For the power it packs + size + price, it looks like value for money.

Does it have an internal microphone btw? It didn't appear to have one, from the spec i looked at.

I'm only guessing, but id say yes. It'd be ridiculous to have a built in webcam with no mic!

on this model u can see in the spec it does have one. i assume it does on other models. as Alanstrainor said above it would be point less without it

ye i was thinking of buying the Q310. does anyone know where i could get one at a good price and at least a two year warranty.

Still looking to buy this but haven't taken the plunge yet so went into a John Lewis store to take a look at it (they have a 2yr warranty), and it seems that the ASS2UK edition will shortly be discontinued with a new edition on the way, the ASS4UK.

But the key specs vs price seem rather odd to me...
    Q310-ASS2UK
    • Intel Core 2 Duo P8400, 2.2GHz processor
    • 4GB RAM
    • Storage 320GB
    • nVidia 9200M GS 256MB graphics

    Price: £680
    Q310-ASS4UK
    • Intel Centrino 2 P7450, 2.13GHz processor
    • 3GB RAM
    • Storage 320GB
    • nVidia 9200M GS 256MB graphics

    Price: £749

    Any thoughts on this?

Isn't the Core Duo the superior processor?

Ignore the centrino part, it doesn't really mean anything significant. Unless I missing something the ass2 is better. Faster processor and more ram, cheaper to boot too.
