a friend of mine from england traded in his GB licence fror an irish one recently. The issue date on it may 2008 even though he has a licence for years.
If he gets stopped by the guards when he ie is acompanying his partner, who is on a lerners permit, will he be charged as he has not got the licence for more than 2 years.....

    1. AFAIK there is a code stamped on the licence to indicate that it was exchanged and a code of the country of origin.

    2. It is the responsibility of the Learner Driver to ensure that they are accompanied by a suitable person. If they are not, they are deemed to be driving unaccompanied. The passenger cannot be charged. ;)
