wireless router for ps3?

just got vodafone 3g mobile broadband for my pc. my pc isnt near the ps3 so is it true i will need a wireless router to hook ps3 up to internet.anything else i need/need to do as i havent a clue how then to hook it up after that, what setting to change on pc(running xp) or seeting to change on ps3? Thanks
