No, its not that one, this one is white and brown with chromed inlet cowls. The reg is *-BAT, it was on engine runs on friday so if no snags were found Id say it was released yesterday or today.

*cant remember the first letter of the reg.

Watched her depart yesterday about 11:00 , I was playing pitch and putt, saw a 4 engined aircraft climbing out...... then as it went overhead saw it was an SP

Very unusual aircraft , I remember PanAm used to operate them , and SAA when they were not allowed to fly over africa so they could get from Jo-Berg to LHR non stop I think

Could somebody tell me, when Air France Cargo 747, or any other 747 arrives at Dublin Airport?

I recall a subsidiary of luxair , (god be with the days) used an sp lux to South Africa.

I think the SP is unique and required its own certification programme ....it was the precursor to long haul twins as in the 767 200 etops programme.

Flew into Bournemouth a fair bit between 2008-2010 and I used to see a mini-747 parked up quite often.
Turned out, it was some young fella's taxi!
This young (arab) lad went to school in England and on the weekends he would go home in his mini 747!

    VQ-B1.jpg

The unknown question is if the aircraft is going to the father (present owner of VP-BAT and deposed ruler of Qatar) or the son (Present ruler of Qatar)

We are taking number 7 which will also replace a SP.
