    Hi,
I am considering buying a Nespresso machine and from looking online have been thinking about getting the DeLonghi Nespresso EN680 machine.
This can be bought for £250 sterling.
There is also an EN660 model which is available for £200 sterling.
Having compared the specs of both online I can't seem to see any difference between the 2 machines.
Does anyone know what the difference between the machines is?
I am interested in the 680 model but if the 660 is just as good then I would probably buy this as it is £50 sterling cheaper.
Anyone know the difference between these 2 or why there is a £50 price difference?
Cheers in advance for any advice

I can't recommend either one I'm afraid, I've no experience with those particular machines.

Are you dead set on an nespresso machine? For £200 you'll have a gaggia classic from House of Fraser, granted you'll have to spend another £100 on a decent grinder but you won't be restricted to what nespresso want to offer you and with a bit of time spent perfecting your brew you'll no doubt produce a better coffee.

Have a read over the forum, check out the diferent coffees and suppliers that we use and order from, none of this will be available with nespresso. I don't want to seem anti-nespresso I just want to present the facts. There's a discussion here about nespresso that may be worth a read. Feel free to ask any questions, if you do go for the nespresso keep us updated with what you think and how you get on :)

I've only had one or 2 a while ago. Wouldn't mind trying another couple myself. Maybe a project for next week....

i may go harass the people in brown thomas. Go in and taste every one of the pods, then buy none.

The more expensive one has a cup warmer, that is the only difference I see in the spec. £50 is an expensive cup warmer!

Some might only want it for convenience, it would be like a guy asking where to get a keg in the beer forum and asking if he would consider brewing his own (he might want to though). I know it is not the same degree of effort but it can seem like a lot of trouble to some. In the long run you also have to consider how much coffee you will drink too, after a year or so you could recoup the initial higher cost compared with buying the expensive capsules. Sort of like discounted printers with high price cartridges, or below cost consoles and high price games.

Thanks for reminding me that I put a couple of my latest brew in the fridge last night. Had a ****ty day but it's nothing a 6.5% Belgian Amber can't fix :D

Actually, thats good advice - forget the nespresso - brew your own beer instead!

There's no difference between the two machines except that the 680 has a stainless steel front, the 660 is plastic but comes in several colours.

Have to say I'm very happy with my 660, love the ristretto capsule, the crema is beautifully smooth and best of all, no mess & no cleanup.
