PS3 Green Screen

    Hi folks,

I'm looking for some help here!

I switched on the PS3 this morning, and the main menu screen has gone green instead of the normal black. It had been working without fault until Thursday evening at least.

The PS3 is connected via HDMI to the TV through a Denon AVR1909 Receiver. I've tried to connect it straight to the TV, I've swapped the cable from my Sky HD box, and it's the same, I've used my PS3 cable in the Sky box and it's fine. Strangely, Blu-Ray discs play fine through it too.

I've restored settings to default, but the screen is still green.

Has anyone seen this before? And if so, what's the fix?

    Cheers,

    PS It's a September 2007 PS3, 60Gb

Just googled and found this on another site ,

    1. Turn off your TV and turn it back on while the PS3 is ON.

    or

    2.

Allright here's the source of the problem: You didn't have 480i selected in the compatible display resolutions so since the Remote Play screen only displays in 480i, it switched your settings to 480i when you turned it off (In fact you only had to press O)
What you have got to do:
    -Unplug the composite cables
    -Plug in your HDMI cable
-Turn the system off (If it isn't alread off)
-Turn it on while holding the power button until you hear a second beep.

The PS3 should detect the HDMI interface and switch automatically to compatible resolutions.

    If that did not work:
-Make sure both composite and HDMI are plugged in correctly.
-Select the video input for the PS3 in 480i mode on your TV (Aux, video 1, video 2, etc.)
-Navigate to System settings, then Display settings, then Video output settings.
-Choose HDMI, and then switch to your HDMI video input (You have about thirty seconds to do so, so don't stress.)
-Confirm the HDMI selection, and then select all the compatible resolutions (As well as 480i this time)
    -Confirm all the settings.

    Thanks for that, 311.

It was the input settings on the TV itself.

    Crisis averted!!
