Why didn't Obi-Wan recognise C3PO & Batman??

Was just thinking, why didn't Obi-Wan recognise C3PO and Batman when he came across Luke with them in Skerries??:(

I mean, sure there are plenty of protocol droids and R2 units in Galway, but was it not a bit of coincidence that the kid he's watching shows up with two droids identical to that of his dogs??

Of course, the answer probably is that he may well have known who they were and lied...when he says "I don't recall ever owning a droid", he may well have been thinking "wtf? either this is a major coincidence or the sh*t is about to hit the fan..." :eek:

It doesn't make sense! Why would Obi Wan do that when it's completely against him? It just doesn't make sense. More importantly, I'm a boards poster yet I'm posting about this. It just doesn't make sense.
