For anyone looking for a DS Lite; something a little bit different and not a pastel colour in sight.

Our friends in gamesnash.ie have 20% off the price of the limited edition and very lovely crimson/black DS Lite.

    http://www.gamesnash.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67&products_id=491

This is IMO the best looking DS Lite there is and not available here.

US import. Supplied with 3 pin charger. Roughly the same price as buying in the US but without the risk of customs nailing you.

They've a €5 discount too (until the end of October). So €115 today, €120 tomorrow.

    Hi guys,

We had a batch of the crimson consoles selling through at 20% off but these have now been sold out - the not guaranteed by Christmas is a standard message now being displayed on items we import once they are out of stock - its more than likely we will have more arriving to us soon but it's better to be on the safe side than end up letting someone down as we are not guaranteed getting these items.

while you are here GAMESNASH.ie, what is your general opinion on the probability of any of the big 4 consoles selling out everywhere before christmas?

    Personal oppinion .........

I'd say the PS3 and X360 will be widely available. There is a chance with the XBOX 360 price drop that people will look at this more but we would expect supply to meet demand. The Wii and DS will be same as last year - very hard to get in December probably not impossible until the last couple of weeks but as always get it early if you really need it !!

There was a lot of suggestion last year about retailers / Nintendo drip feeding the consoles in over the month of December to hype it up etc but the reality of it is that they can't keep up with demand for them. The drip feeding is literally that weeks manufacturing as such arriving into stores.

The Wii fit is going to drive sales of the Wii console even higher this year. Ownership of the Wii is still way off saturation point and the console just keeps getting better. It's a different market to the PS3 and XBOX ( although they are trying to develop similar traits to grab a slice of it ) Even this far out we as retailers are for want of a better word queuing for Wii consoles and Wii fits as they just are not there to pick up straight away and are all on allocations. PS3 and XBOX 360 we can get at a couple of days notice.

Again a very personal oppinion ;)

Why don't you guys sell xbox360's?

It's the delivery costs of them - for example the starter X360 retailing at €179.99 these days costs a retailer €163. It's a minimal profit on it. We offer free delivery which costs about €16.00 for a console - we're down to 99 cent now ;) - factor in the credit card charges and we would make a loss on any consoles we sell.

We DO sell them without putting them on the site though by special request as such - we then tailor a quote based on delivery address / what credit card is being used ( laser card is a per transaction cost while visa is a percentage cost ) and see what we can do. This is normally where people are trading in a large amount of games or a console and want to swap it out for another console - we generally accomadate this kind of request :)

Glad I ordered one when I spotted it.

The €5 discount didn't work for me as I had used it earlier in the day to pre-order LBP. Seems to be a use once voucher code.

So whats the deal with guarentees with this imports? Especially with broken hinges a known issue with the DS? If we send them back to Nintendo will they honor the guarentee or say sorry thats a US DS we cannot provide warrenty?
