Only C4 showing something scary... I think.

RTE, RTE, BBC 1 & 2 and ITV all not bothering?
    Hardly any films at all.

I thought Halloween used to get a good smattering of horror flicks?

    :eek::eek::eek:

Seems to be a thing of the past. There hasn't been any horrors on tv for Halloween for a few years now I think. If you have TCM you'll get Poltergeist and the Exorcist back to back tonight. Two classics.

    Schedule doesn't look great alright.
Though "Saw" and "Saw II" were on last Saturday and Sunday on Channel 4

yeah, seems very odd for a Friday night also.
RTE have 'Sommersby' and 'Dave' on late tonight.
I mean, WTF? A 'romantic period drama' and a 'warmhearted comedy'

seriously!! i was flicking thru the RTE guide earlier and couldnt believe it. in my day (ok im only 18 now but whatever!) there would be kids halloween movies on during the day and then a lot of spooky movies at night (usually nightmare on elm street, the omen, exorcist, etc.)
its also the first year i havent seen halloweentown on :( my inner 8yr old is not happy!
maybe its just where i live but the whole atmosphere of halloween is so different now. when i was a kid we would have fireworks in the neighbourhood on the night of halloween and the weeks leading up to the day of halloween we would all collect things for a bonfire. theres none of that now! i havent even seen any kids in costume yet..i know its still early but we used to put on our witches hats and vampire teeth first thing!

God i haven't seen poltergeist in years I'd be afraid to watch it though in case it hasn't aged well. Really the only horror asaik to stand the test of time has been a nightmare on elm street,

There hasn't been a horror film on TV at halloween in years. I know because my missus is a horror fan and has complained every year...

I thought TV3 would at least do a Vincent Brown Halloween special! ;)

We can only hope that Hocus Pocus is the Big Big Movie on RTE tomorrow!

Yeah it sucks that there are not more halloween movies on. The only thing I can think is that perhaps distributors charge more to put Horror movies on at halloween and broadcasters don't want to pay it.

Well, i did look at the listings earlier and noticed Halloween 2 and one of the Nightmare on Elm St movies is on... so... shut up.

Although i don't think either of them are on at a reasonable hour.

Yeah.. from a quick browse on Sky+..

    Halloween 2 at 12.30am on BBC1
The People Under The Stairs at 10.30pm on Sci-Fi

But TCM is definitely the best bet: Poltergeist (YAYYY!), The Exorcist (TRIPLE YAYYYY!) and The Hunger (BIG OLD MEH!) from 9PM. Can't be wrong!

Might break out My Nightmare on Elm Street collection.. and laugh at the even numbered films. Actually.. anything after the first one is pretty damn laughable! :D
