Regarding getting a TV card for a laptop
    I was looking at this
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=335588
But how do i know it would pickup NTL from my cable?
Is NTL using PAL or something like that?

    Hi man,

I have a Hauppage (sp?) HVR-900 USB telly for my laptop. They give you an aerial with the thing for signal, but I plug the coax from the aerial on the roof into mine and the signal is good enough. I assume that you would take the coax that gives you NTL (which is now plugged in to your normal telly) and plug it in to your card. You have to tune in the channels like a normal telly.

My telly is brilliant to be fair, cost less than 100 euro, can switch between the telly and computer (cos it's usb like), can record 24/48/whatever amount of footage you want to see, schelduler is simple and works very well. Only issue is the graphics card on the laptop dont seem to be able to handle the recording operation. One of my better purchases ;-)
