Whether you will get your battery recalled or not? Can't say for sure. But if you have an affected battery pack your just as equally screwed.

damn it, the battery on my hp laptop just went dead yesterday, was hoping mine would be in the recall so i could get a new one free but no:( ....
do ye think an extended warranty would cover a battery dying? i've only had it a year and a half should the battery really be dead already?

Extended warranties generally don't cover the battery as it is considered a consumable.

    Jeez...

My dad has a Dell 5150 (unfortunately! :D), it's a woeful laptop. I'll have to check the battery tomorrow on it. :)

Regarding the extended warranty battery: ask. never hurts to ask.
