    As above.
Very little activity on this site. It offers members a relatively secure way to discuss Garda issues.
Why aren't more members using it?

I'm guessing that you have to log in using your warrant number, so posts would not be anonymous? If this is the case I imagine its the overriding factor in a low post count.

I don't think anonymity is the problem.
There has been a very low number of people registered users.
It's a pity, really. A good opportunity wasted - with a couple of notable exceptions.

Went as far as registering etc but never bothered again. Figured there was no point in whinging along with like minded people. Better coming on here and whining instead...

    I hear ya!
Still, I think it's a good opportunity to air grievances, make suggestions and seek help.
At least the Rep. body can't say they weren't aware of an issue.

Having approached reps over the years over various matters, I find I get a "well, the Chief is down on that sort of thing at the minute, I wouldn't like to rock the boat too much" and so on.

With the GRA site, they've no reason to ignore an issue - whether it's our over inflated salaries :D or the John Wayne toilet paper in the jacks. All queries are there on record and can be discussed, supported or rubbished online. God forbid this might save time at the annual junket in Bundoran so real issues can be debated!

I get the impression their is a fear of reprimanding members if too much is said or if what is being said goes against the grain of the current thought of the AGS. I can't see what the problem is with questioning our methods tbh, we have after all entered an era of accountibility and transparency. Haven't we?

Maybe someone who hasn't posted on there will tell us why cos I ain't one of them.

If we can post on a public forum, bearing in mind official secrets, confidentiality and so on, members shouldn't have much to fear on a well regulated site used and viewed by gardai only.

I have expressed concerns here before about people posting inappropriate or compromising material which is available to the public and management, but members who post here are, pretty much, self regulating.

I also feel that younger members/applicants are more open to suggestion here and can get drawn into arguments which might lead them to discuss or reveal something they shouldn't e.g. ongoing investigations.

I enjoy posting here, and feel I can lend sensible and serious weight to any discussion (*ahem*). I will continue to do so, too - until my next hissy fit. I would prefer, though, to use the Garda review site to discuss matters which are of no interest to the general public.

(a bit of deja vu kicking in here)
