Living with Lucy - Who actually watches this fodder?

I'm wondering why we are paying our tv licence so RTE can produce this stuff, which means they're paying Lucy Kennedy and some z-list celebrity to sit around a house laughing about nothing
Which RTE executive comes up with this stuff?

How long before they come up with the bright idea of an Irish Big Brother? Not long the way we are going.

Would it not make more sense to just import a quality sitcom from the US (Curb you enthuasiasm, 2 and a half men etc. or even show re-runs of Fraizer)?!

Because this stuff is not entertaining to anyone with half a brain and it certainly isn't 'Irish' comedy. It's just pure ****e.

^ I find the above post offensive. I'm a girl and I'd never watch that muck, nor would any of my female friends

It's the worst kind of muck. That Lucy Keneddy annoys the head off me with her man's laugh. Throw in to the mix a tired format and you have car crash tv at its worst.

    Terrible show.

She laughs like a demented hyena yet it still seems fake.

    Eye-gouginly bad televison

However the reason it gets made is that it is cheap as chips - when compared to something like RAW for example - one camera crew + salary for Lucy < paying for writers, actors, locations.

    Still shockingly bad

Both of these are already on TG4, so that wouldn't really make any sense at all.

How much are they paying the celebrities though? Knowing RTE I'd bet they're paying both Lucy and the Celebs outrageous amounts.

I really want to know who the f**k watches this stuff. Who is it aimed at????

Then what about 'King of Queens' or 'The War at Home'. They used to be shown on RTE around prime time. Well written, witty comedy. Not brilliant but a damn sight better than watching that other muck.

HIV is funnier than King of Queens.

They should have called this show "Going on the pi$$ with Lucy".

Caught this show a few times in the last series and everytime without fail she was on the lash...regardless of what type of person she was staying with.

Looks like this series is no different, saw the promo for the Don Baker episode and guess what she has a drink in her hand.

Hey I'm all for going on the pi$$ but sadly everytime I see her now I just see her as a total lush :(

Well I guess this show is the female version of Hanging with Hector.
TV is too dumbed down these days.90% of whats on is garbage.

I only saw the one when she was hanging with yourman from boyzone that lived in a caravan, the traveler one.

That was a funny episode, yourman is crackers I've allot more respect for him after watching it. I would now piss on him if he was on fire.

If rubbish like this stops a second season of RAW being made, I'll be :(

(Yes, raw is a bit crap itself..but at least the production values are decent. It was a guilty pleasure for me)

Living with Lucy is as close to pure classic TV entertainment as I can think of. It's slick, funny, good-hearted, exciting, with the ability to juggle its genre elements of action and comedy in just about the perfect measure. It would certainly be a candidate for the "best show evar" title RTE has so many holes on its schedule right now you can't help wonder what they're waiting for and why they're continuing to squander this terrifically enjoyable programe by not having more shows.
