Think of all the hot women that will be signing up if we win. Granted, they probably won't fancy you, but statistically you have a better chance of getting lucky.

If you don't want to vote, then don't. We won't mind.

There's definately no one checking the logs. Definately not.

For this category it would seem that a public voting system is somewhat unfair? Boards being the biggest by far just has to put out the Notice to it's members, whereas the other smaller forums may very well be of a higher quality but just with less of a following. Not that I don't think Boards is a great site, just saying.

But if the smaller sights are better, then a higher percentage of their population should vote for them. Like if boards is a bad site

    a) People wouldn't post here
    b) People wouldn't vote for here.

Yeah! Stick it to the man! Fight teh powah!

You need to put in your email address to vote. That address goes to eircom. eircom, formally the state owned Telecom Éireann, still have connections with the government. Ergo, you go on the personal email list of Brian "Grand Master" Cowen. You'll be first on the list for all his propaganda. You'll be brain* washed! He'll introduce the state issued ID cards with no hassel, claiming that he received a huge amount of email votes! If you look closely at the voting options... boards.ie - or backwards I.D!

THIS IS IT PEOPLE! RUN to_da FOR THE HILLS!

Boards is bigger than the Golden Spiders. This is like Mike Tyson competing for Junior Infants hopscotch champion of Cliffoney.

The Golden Spiders are a yawn fest that boards should not dignify.
    Asking us not telling us.

I will vote for Boards on 1 condition that someoene show that voting will help the owners of boards make money and create employement.

Let it go ffs. Those elections were free and fair.

@OP: There are massive cash prizes for all posters if Boards.ie wins the Golden Spider. Unfortunately just like the Euromillions, there's no anonymity option. Unfortunatley you will have to present yourself in personsans tinfoil to collect the cash and have your photograph and fingerprints taken to stop people scamming and claiming the money twice. Hope that's not an issue.

But if the smaller sights are better, then a higher percentage of their population should vote for them.

As an example, if the site that was the best had 10% of the user base that Boards did, even if 10% of Boards users voted for Boards, and 99% of the other sites users voted for it, Boards would still win.

Comparably, if there was a vote for best Irish phone provider and Eircom managed to get 5% of their users to vote for them, and a smaller, cheaper, better value service got 50% of their users to vote for them, Eircom might still win but it's still not reflective of who is the best.

It's not a bad site, and people will still post here because it's a very good site. But it still mightn't be the best...but it's the biggest, and so it can easily win.
