I'm worried about the options that might come up for the long questions, writing on someones life. Should i learn a few and hope for the best?

Its been a while since I did History, but:

Look at last years papers, look at the long Qs, you can essentially cross them off, its unlikely that they'll come up two years in a row.

And then, just get cracking, you have absolutely ages until the JC so, you have plenty of time to learn them, one a week maybe?

I got an A in this without a total lack of effort. Just find the ones that are most likely going to come up, type the examit code in and learn it off. I think that two of the things that came up id prepared so its not too hard really

we were told that 6 maybe 7 will cover us

they should be a page and a half long each, you should try learn one say on,some one from the age of exploration . eg.columbus.. someone from the renaissance.eg.michaelangelo..someone from a revolution..eg washington. an archaeologist..a knight in medieval times.. someone from a reformation.eg.Martin Luther

    something along those lines

I did da JC last year and i didn't learn any essays . . I looked at which topics were likley to come up in the long questions and studied it by writing a short summary(bullet points) this had me covered for the whole paper and I got an A!!
This probably wont work for everyone but if you can't/don't want to learn off essays id say you shoud give this a shot.

By just knowing the section of history you should be able to make up an essay as you go along!! Besta luck:D:D:D

    Learn...
    Medieval knight,
    named religious reformer,
    sailor during age of explorations,

    revolutionary leader 18th century,
    Irish political figure 1916 - 1923 OR 1923 onwards
Soldier involved in Operation Barbarossa / Other WWII events

    And you'll get an A.

Trust me, I know these things.

Always remember, on Q4 A goes up to the Reformation (study Irish history, explorer and reformer) and B is the rest of the course. (Tone/Washington/Robespierre, Industrial Revolution are good to study)

Q6 is a lot easier than it looks, because Political developments in 20th Century Ireland and International Relations in the 20th Century come up EVERY SINGLE YEAR, and International Relations is relatively easy to study for. Also Social Change in 20th Century Ireland comes up maybe 80% of the time, and is a cake walk.

Q5 however, is an absolute btich, part C to be specific.
Topics that can be asked are:
Irish/French/American revolution (you'll get choice here)
    Reformation
    Industrial Revolution

I think that's all. And remember, past papers are your friend :P
