How profitable are BMI's dub-Lhr routes? They are valuable slots that could be put on LH routes instead..

Without BMI that would leave Dublin Airport with only the Frankfurt route by Lufthansa connected to the Star Alliance network. I doubt it's a sure bet that they would get rid of it.

I'd imagine DUB - LHR is pretty safe. Even if LH don't pair up with Virgin, they are still going to need a short haul network to feed into their flights from Heathrow.

    Aren't Turkish star alliance aswell?
They are doing a lot of Tv advertisements for Dub-Ist at the moment.

Whilst it would be a bit awkward to use that as a hub to the U.S to say the least,it could be used for lots of places East.

SAS, Turkish, US Airways, Air Canada (during the summer at least), and Swiss would still be there alongside Lufthansa.

If you include codeshares, you'll also have United codesharing a lot with Aer Lingus very soon.
