Right folks was wondering if someone out there can help me. Myself and the wife are looking to go boarding in the first week in Feb/last week in Jan. We are going as part of a group with her sister and mate of mine. now this is where it starts to get interesting. The sister suggested sa se deoux (i know i am spelling that wrong) but the mate wants to go to Val thorens (cos he knows that there will defo be snow). anyway i am looking for a compromise. We want to go somewhere where

    1) there is good (defo) snow for both boarders and skiers
    2) the level for the skier is moderate (myself and the wife are beginners)
    3) somewhere that has descent apres ski (val thorens has none from what i have read so far)
    4) cheap accomodation

so thats the requirements for it hit me with some resorts. we will be looking to book through a travel agent and want to get it done within the next week or so.

thanks in advance for the replies

Sauze d'Oulx is what you were aiming for on the spelling I think. ;)

I've be to another of the 3Valleys resorts that Val Thorens is part of, but never actually made it up to that part . Val Thorens is the highest resort, I think, in France so probably the safest bet there for snow, but if your going end of January then that is really not going to be much of an issue, unless it is a really really warm winter. 3Valleys is a huge area though so depending on how adventourus the intermediate skiier is they could get to explore some great runs over a huge area. I don't have any experience of freinds going through the ski schools there though to be able to commment on that side of things really.
