    Hi all,

I've an interview in 2 weeks time for a position in the fusion programme. anyone done one before and know what i should expect. Also i asked b4 without success but has anyone experience of doing the fusion intertradeireland programme and whats it like and whats the salary etc. I know you also do a Postgrad diploma in business management as well. It sounds interesting enough.

    thanks.

I'd love to know more about the Fusion Project too...looks very good and beneficial for long-term prospects.

Does any one know what kind of hours are needed for the Diploma etc? and I see that salary is dependent on the company...anyone know a rough guide of what to expect?

    thanks

Had my interview today for an engineering position.
Was a standard enough interview...was just the HR staff of the company.

Wasn't until the interview itself until i got any idea of the project itself or the scope. Seemed very interesting with lots of responsibility and a lot of potential for full-time employment. Not much was mentioned on the diploma side however.

fingers crossed for the 2nd interview!

Fusion don't get involved in things like candidate choice or salary, that will be up to the company and academic partners.
This means your interview will be like any other, maybe wity a slight academic twist.

As regards to the programme itself I would certainly recommend it: a grad position with academic supervisation and a HDip from Smurfits on top of it.

Also the project selection process is such that you are gaurenteed to be working on a highly innovative piece of work.

    Hi

Sorry to drag this up yet again. I have an interview for the fusion programme next week and was wondering if anyone had any further advice on what to expect and how to prepare?

Would it be more a HR rather than a technical type interview? What will they discuss? Would anyone say its a tough interview etc..? Just any info at all that will help me prepare.

    Cheers

I attended an interview for this a number of months ago and it was grand. Think theres a thread somewhere here if you do a search where I gave at outline of the interview.

It was grand, only 20-30 mins and the usual stuff: tell me about yourself, strengths, weaknesses, why you for this job and then just went through the CV.

Got a letter today in the post informing me that I was successful and I am now on this "panel"

Thanks for that. Will search for that? So wasn't overly technical then?

You attended the interview a few months ago and only found out you have been successful? That is a long wait. Any idea when you are due to start or how long after interview one could expect to start if successful?

    Cheers

I am due to start in September but it varies from job to job. Again the interview will be different from job to job. Mine was for a structural engineering job and I was given one technical question regarding the bending moments of a beam with a distributed load on it.

Actually did my interview before Christmas so it was a long drawn out process
