any guesses on how long this will be in beta??? :p

p.s. probably needs 8Gb RAM and 2 nVidia GTX 280's to run right..........hang on though - this is Microsoft so they'll probably ship 12 different versions split between 32bit and 64bit - for most people it'll be the 32bit version maxing out at 4Gb ram with the Graphics memory, although separate, deducted from usable main system memory.

it did make me laugh though......that multi touch wasn't very multi - took him a couple goes to hit it.

More to the point, how do Windows actually expect PC brands (Like Dell, HP, Acer) to come up with touch screen solutions to facilitate such a feature on a large scale basis? Does it now mean that Micro$oft expect you to also upgrade your monitor as well?

The half-screen windows is an improvement on current Windows usability, but I still think OS X's zoom button, when implemented properly, is better.

I don't see the point in multitouch on an ordinary PC, but it would be very useful on tablet PCs. In fairness, Mac users have been clamouring for a multitouch tablet for a long time now. I think we might finally see a MacBook Touch around the same time as the Windows 7 launch. Hopefully running full OS X, with an onscreen keyboard and the option of attaching standard/bluetooth peripherals too. If this pushes Apple into doing that, then thank you Microsoft :)

I don't expect it does. It'll be a feature that you can enable with compatible hardware, presumably tablets for the most part. And it's not like Apple doesn't occasionally demand you upgrade other hardwire either.

    *Cough, Firewire*

It is running now for me fine; it is only iPlayer that is region locked with them.

Or it will be a feature for "Windows 7 Super Duper Edition with Chocolate Covered Strawberries" only which will cost $299 more than the other 19 editions that will be released around the same time and the extra "features" will then be abandoned a few weeks later (*Cough* Vista "Ultimate Extras" *Cough*)...
