    Hey guys

I want to reinstall vista because i heard it cleans up the registry a little bit
What i want to know is: is there any implications of a reinstall. Eg will my desktop icons still remain the same etc...Will there be any changes to my HDD etc etc etc...

A bit extreme if you just need the registry cleaned up a bit. Ccleaner can do this and its free. http://www.ccleaner.com/

Disclaimer: Select the backup registry option before cleaning it and backup important doc's etc.

reinstalling vista will basically return it to factory settings and wipe all of your data. Will work wonders but as said might be a bit exteme, I suggest doing as the last poster said and remove any unwanted applications etc.

As the poster mentioned CCleaner is free and has other nice features like cleaning all the temp files (such as browser cahce etc) and allows you to set which programs launch on starting your pc, the last one might help boot up times if you stop unnecessary applications starting automatically.
