Hey, just a quick question regarding micro chipping.
When we got Amie back in June we got the standard leaflet/form which you fill out to update the microchip owner details with Animark. We sent it off with the fee etc, but we never got any confirmation of the details being updated.

Is this normal? Just seems strange that they wouldn't confirm with the owners that the details on their database had been updated.
I checked their website, which is quite basic. It has a contact number, but it is noted that it is for people/societies that wish to have access to the database, so it looks like they probably wouldn't confirm my details over the phone.

Anyway, does anyone have an info on how it all works!? :)

I got a dog microchipped during the year, I posted off the form but didn't get anything back. It was a different company too.
For the other dog she was micro chipped as a pup and I couldn't find the change of ownership / address, so I emailed them (another different company - I can't think of either of the names right now). Obviously they replied back to me by email and said it was updated, I had to give them the microchip number.

Maybe email them and see if they can confirm your details if you provide the microchip number?

I emailed them a good while back but got no response. I didn't realise there were all these different companies that looked after the microchip database, I though it was all managed through one system!

Why not try ringing the number anyway, and they might give you another phone number to contact? Just explain that you hadn't heard back and you wanted to double check that they have the right details.
