Conversion of video files......

    I have a few video files in the .MOV format (from a digi camera). Im trying to get these to my ipod. Any software i tried to use to convert .MOV to mp4 directly did not work so i decided to convert first to AVI, then to mp4. I have a program called Bink & Smacker to do the first step (.MOV to AVI), but when i try to use Jodix to convert the AVI to mp4,im getting errors constantly. Any ideas?
