    Hi,

Does anyone know the Aer Lingus fee for using at credit card to book? I can't find it anywhere. If you have the Euro and GBP rate that would be great.

    Thanks,

    EM

All you have to do is pretend to book a flight and you get all the fees presented to you...

    5. Payment Card Handling Fee

For all bookings except those originating in the USA, there is a handling fee charged. Charges as follows:
€5 per person, per flight, Credit Card handling fee.
€3 per person, per flight, Debit Card handling fee.

It gives a total fee however after you put in the credit card details it adds an extra charge, as far as I know.

Ok, there is a charge 'handling fee', is that basically the credit/debit card charge?

I very much doubt that. As I said, you can try it yourself. Book a fake flight. Look at the Total price including taxes and fees. When you click 'continue' it adds on handling fee (usually €8) and than you have the full total that'll be taken from your card.

Adding on extra fees afterwards would be illegal unless someone can prove otherwise.

This is a flight I bought last September :

Ticket Number xxxxx Date of Ticket Issue: 14SEP08
    ================================================================
Note:- Aer Lingus does not require booked passengers to reconfirm flights. Should a change in schedule occur you will be notified by e-mail

    RECEIPT:
    Fare details:
    Category Fare Taxes,Fees,Charges Subtotal
    01 ADULT EUR23.98 EUR68.60 EUR92.58

    Total Fees EUR10.00

    GRAND TOTAL EUR102.58

    Payment VISA
    Restrictions/Endorsements
    NO RFND/CHG FEE APPLIES
CXL BY FLT DT OR NO VALUE

I can confirm that the total of EUR102.58 was the amount debited from my account. I paid €10 in handling fees, €5 for each flight as I used a credit card to book (it robs you by charging you a fee for 2 separate flights even if you bought them at the same time).
