    Hi,
Quite a few new bus stops have gone up in the last few weeks on the main road alongside Ravenswood (near Ongar) and Latchford in the Clonsilla/Clonee area. Is there a new bus route going in here? Have not seen anything on the Dublin Bus site.

Same in Leixlip on Easton Road, I presume these are for school buses.

Easton Road is served by Dublin Bus route 66D.

The 39 is being split into 3 routes and the 37 route is being extended.
There should be press announcements soon.

There has been a full review of the Blanchardstown/Castleknock bus service by Dublin Bus, which does involve the introduction of extra bus services in the Ongar/Littlepace area and enhanced services to the Clonsilla loop (Hartstown/Huntstown).

However, this included the extension of the 37 from its existing terminus at Carpenterstown to the Blanchardstown Centre, which was refused by the Department of Transport on the grounds that it would be unfair competition against the hourly UrBus service along Castleknock Road (which continues direct to the Centre and then on to the Airport and Swords). This despite the fact that the URbus fare from Castleknock to the Blanchardstown SC is EUR 1.20 which would be cheaper than the 37 and more direct!!!!

They would only grant permission for the 37 extension if it was operated as a purely commercial service, which DB patently could not do as they would be left footing the bill for the cost of running the off-peak services. So we are back to the drawing board, to try to come up with a solution that the Department will find acceptable.

I'm not sure what the status of the proposals are at the moment, but one suggestion was that the 270 would be re-routed from Dunboyne via Littlepace and then via Ongar, Clonsilla, Huntstown/Hartstown to the Blanchardstown Centre and that may be what these stops are for.

There's a pretty good thread about this in the D15 forum, too.
