520d emissions

Looking at the revenue VRT calculator for a 2006 BMW 520d it give 2 different emission rates - 158 and 136. What differences did they have in the engine around that time?

Ah, probably auto (A6) vs manual (M6).

The revenue rates are 158 and 136 whereas the rates on SEI are 185 and 158.

ED wasn't introduced until the middle of 2007 afaik.

Just checked the V5 reg document on a used 520d in the UK and it is listed as being 158 g/km.

The only 520d that gets as low as 136g is the efficient dynamics one in manual form so the 2006 car you are looking at will have the higher emissions.

E46 320d upto mid 2005 had 150bhp and falls into the 20% VRT band.

E90 320d from mid 2005 to mid 2007 had 163bhp and falls into the 20% VRT band too.

E90 320d from mid 2007 with ED has 177bhp and falls into the 16% VRT band.
