I'm currently using iwork 08 and it's great how everything ties in so well. Like it's effortless to take a photo from iphoto to insert it on a word doc in Pages.

But I'm far from confident on Numbers. I've used Neooffice and MS Office for mac and I was a lot happier with the spreadsheet programs. Nothing wrong with Numbers as such but it's new stuff to learn even if you've used Excel for years.

Not realy much of a difference between Keynote and Powerpoint imo.

I've happily used neooffice too. Works well and free :)

    So, what are you using?

meant to add a poll but too late now :(

iWork '08 as well, got it cheaper in the US. I think Keynote is way better than Powerpoint, but agree completely on Numbers - it's the hardest transition if you're very used to Excel. To be fair though, I only use an office suite casually for personal use and for those uses, iWork '08 is great - if I had to do a lot of work related stuff with it and share files with MS Office for Windows, I might not be as happy with it...

I use iWork also. Could never get used to MS Word again, I just prefer how Pages works, I know where everything is etc. I still have Word, in case I ever need it, but hate to use it.

I have used MS office growing and i have it on my mac as it stands. But i do also have iWork 08 which, like J-blk i got cheaper in the states earlier in the year and im loving it to date.

For education related stuff, pages is way handier. Very Quick to snap open, easy to format stuff whatever way you like. I think its great!

I haven't been so lucky with numbers though. Like everyone else has said, its a bit tricky after getting so used to Excel. I have watched and read various tutorials online etc but tbh, i don't see myself changing in the near future.

As for the Keynote vs. Powerpoint perspective. Well, i really like both. There is nothing wrong with PP at all, but i really like the slick interface you get with keynote. I did some work over the summer and a lot of it was making presentations for various projects and almost everyone who sat through the presentations commented on how they looked. Maybe its just that i got the "hang" of Keynote better than PP, but i like both programs.

On a side note. Pages is priced more fairly than Office.

use MS Office '08 but since i write maybe 3-4 documents a year totaling approx. 60 pages i'm not that arsed about what i use that much.
